The new musical Midnight by Todrick Hall is returning to London next month, once again playing at Sadler’s Wells East theatre.

This is the second public workshop presentation for Midnight at Sadler’s Wells East, and will run from 20 February to 8 March 2026.

Singer, songwriter and performer Todrick Hall (Burlesque the Musical, Shrek, Chicago) has written the show, and directs and choreographs. He also stars as Rail in the new musical.

Further casting is to be announced.

The 2025 public workshop production at Sadler’s Wells East also starred Rachel Tucker (Wicked) as Charlotte, Ayana George (MJ The Musical) as Ethel, Georgina Onuorah (Brigadoon, Hamilton, The Wizard of Oz) as Happy, and Charlotte Jaconelli (Burlesque, Into the Woods) as Violet.

Set in the American South during the nineteenth century, Midnight is billed as a sweeping story of love, conflict, and the search for understanding. The sung-through musical explores empathy and identity through powerful music and drama, with a message that we cannot choose the roles we are given in life, but we can choose how we play them.

The score blends gospel, rhythm and blues, classical, pop, rock, opera, folk, and traditional musical theatre.

Joining Todrick Hall in the creative team are lighting designer Rory Beaton and sound designer Sound Quiet Time, with further creatives to be confirmed.

Todrick Hall recently directed, choreographed and starred in Burlesque the Musical at London’s Savoy Theatre in the West End.
