Acclaimed production of Arthur Miller’s classic drama A View From The Bridge at the Wyndham’s Theatre starring Mark Strong.

The acclaimed Young Vic production of Arthur Miller’s American classic A View From The Bridge is to transfer into the Wyndham’s Theatre this Winter.

Arthur Miller confronts the American dream in this dark, passionate tale, in a stark and compelling new production from Ivo van Hove.

Mark Strong (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Sherlock Holmes) and Nicola Walker (Last Tango in Halifax, Spooks) lead the cast of this major revival which garnered extraordinary critical and audience acclaim at the Young Vic Theatre.

THE CAST

A View From The Bridge stars Mark Strong as Eddie Carbone and Phoebe Fox as Catherine with Nicola Walker as Beatrice.
Also starring in the show are Emun Elliott as Marco, Michael Gould as Alfieri and Luke Norris as Rodolpho.

Mark Strong’s theatre credits include Sam Mendes’ production of Twelfth Night at the Donmar Warehouse, roles at the RSC and National Theatre, and David Thacker’s Death of a Salesman and Patrick Marber’s Closer, The Treatment and Thickness of Skin at the Royal Court, and Peter Gill’s West End production of Speed-the-Plow. TV credits include Our Friends in the North, The Long Firm, The Buddha of Suburbia and Prime Suspect. Film credits include new movie The Imitation Game and forthcoming film Kingsman: The Secret Service, plus Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Young Victoria, Syriana, Zero Dark Thirty, Sherlock Holmes, RocknRolla, Revolver, Robin Hood, Body of Lies, Kick-Ass and Stardust.

Nicola Walker won an Olivier Award for her performance in the National Theatre’s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Other stage roles include Season’s Greetings, Gethsemane, Tales from the Vienna Woods and Edmond for the National, Mrs Klein and Cloud Nine for the Almeida, Relocated, Fresh Kills and Sweetheart for the Royal Court, plus Lie of the Mind and Passion Play. TV roles include Spooks and Last Tango in Halifax.

Phoebe Fox played Cordelia in Michael Attenborough’s production of King Lear at the Almeida, As You Like It as the Rose Kingston, The Acid Test at the Royal Court and There is a War at the National Theatre.

THE STORY

In Brooklyn, longshoreman Eddie Carbone welcomes his Sicilian cousins to the land of freedom. But when one of them falls for his beautiful niece, they discover that freedom comes at a price. Eddie’s jealous mistrust exposes a deep, unspeakable secret – one that drives him to commit the ultimate betrayal.
