Broadway and TV star Daniel Breaker is set to play Hermes in the acclaimed West End production of Hadestown.

Hadestown is now playing at London’s Lyric Theatre, booking until 27 September 2026.

Daniel Breaker joins the cast from 29 December 2025, and takes over from Cedric Neal.

Breaker joins the London cast having played the role at the Walter Kerr Theatre on Broadway since February this year. His other credits include the Broadway productions of Hamilton, The Book of Mormon and Shrek the Musical, and TV shows Billions and Girls5Eva.

The current cast also features Desmonda Cathabel (Disney’s Aladdin, Mamma Mia! I Have a Dream) as Eurydice, Dylan Wood (No Love Songs) as Orpheus, and Chris Jarman (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) as Hades.

Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts (City of Angels) is now in her final weeks as Persephone in Hadestown, performing until 18 January 2026. Taking over is Dutch actor and singer Joy Wielkens, who will join the production from 20 January to 8 March 2026.

Also leaving on 8 March 2026 will be Desmonda Cathabel, who recently announced that she is departing the show when her contract is up. Further casting for performances from 10 March 2026 is to be announced.

The cast also includes Melanie Bright, Allie Daniel and Lauran Rae as the Fates, with an ensemble including Femi Akinfolarin, Michelle Andrews, Ollie Bingham, Laura Delany, Sebastian Lim-Seet, Lucinda Buckley, Juan Jackson, Oisín Nolan-Power, Lindo Shinda and Jasmine Triadi.

Winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Hadestown is the acclaimed production by celebrated singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and Tony Award-winning director Rachel Chavkin. Blending modern American folk with vintage New Orleans jazz, the show reimagines the ancient Greek myths of Orpheus and Eurydice and Hades and Persephone as a haunting, contemporary musical journey through the underworld.
