Further cast announced for BEAUTIFUL – The Carole King Musical at the Aldwych Theatre
The producers of forthcoming Broadway transfer BEAUTIFUL – The Carole King Musical have announced the full cast of the show.
Joining previously announced Katie Brayben in the title role of Carole King is Ian McIntosh as song-writer Barry Mann.
Ian comes hit-foot from The Commitments at the Palace Theatre and has previously appeared in Rock of Ages, Hair, High School Musical 2 and Aladdin.
Other cast already announced include Alan Morrissey as King’s husband and song-writing partner Gerry Goffin, Lorna Want as song-writer Cynthia Weil, Glynis Barber as Genie Klein, King’s mother, and Gary Trainor as music publisher and producer Don Kirshner.
The rest of the line-up includes Vivien Carter, Ed Currie, Oliver Lidert, Fela Lufadeju, Tanya Nicole-Edwards, Terel Nugent , Jay Perry, Tanisha Spring, Lucy St. Louis, Danielle Steers, Dylan Turner and Joanna Woodwood – all of whom will play iconic musical performers and band members of the era, and ensemble cast including Andy Coxon, Jason Denton, Michael Anthony Duke, Joel Harper-Jackson, Rosie Heath, Aisha Jawando, Hannah Jay-Allan and Leigh Lothian.
The show kicks off at the Aldwych Theatre on 10 February 2015 and covers the early life and career of the legendary singer and songwriter Carole King.
Beautiful features a book by Douglas McGrath, words and music by Gerry Goffin, Carole King, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, and direction by Marc Bruni.
