New work and writing presented in the West End
West End Theatre isn’t just a home for revivals, it is also an increasingly important place for new writing – including musicals, drama and comedy.
New work by up-and-coming and established playwrights and composers includes:
Musicals: Made in Dagenham by Richard Bean (book), David Arnold (music) and Richard Thomas (lyrics), and Sunny Afternoon that features a book by award-winning playwright Joe Penhall .
Comedy: Richard Bean’s latest work for the National Theatre following One Man, Two Guvnors – Great Britain at the Haymarket Theatre, slapstick farce The Play That Goes Wrong at the Duchess Theatre and Amelia Bullmore’s Di and Viv and Rose at the Vaudeville Theatre.
Drama : Includes Mike Bartlett’s new play King Charles III at the Wyndham’s Theatre.
