More about the nation’s favourite bear

Michael Bond’s first book A Bear Called Paddington was published on 13 October 1958 by William Collins & Sons (now HarperCollins). Since its first publication, the Paddington series of books has sold more than thirty-five million copies worldwide and has been translated into more than forty different languages, including Latin.

Paddington has been adapted for television several times, first by the BBC in 1976, voiced by Michael Hordern; and most recently adapted by STUDIOCANAL and Heyday Films into three successful Paddington movies: Paddington, Paddington 2, and Paddington in Peru. Paddington in Peru was released earlier this year on Netflix.
