The Royal Court Theatre in London has announced full casting for its forthcoming world premiere of Porn Play.

Porn Play is running at the Royal Court Theatre from 6 November to 13 December 2025.

Already announced is British screen star Ambika Mod (One Day, This Is Going to Hurt).

She will be joined by Will Close (Dear England), Lizzy Connolly (Pygmalion, Cabaret), and Asif Khan (A Man for All Seasons, Tartuffe).

Porn Play is written by Sophia Chetin-Leuner (This Might Not Be It) and directed by Josie Rourke, former Artistic Director of the Donmar Warehouse and Bush Theatre.

In the play, Ambika Mod stars as Ani, a dazzling young academic with a secret addiction to violent pornography. As her career and relationships unravel in between lectures on Paradise Lost, can she confront her uncontrollable desires?

The creative team also includes designer Yimei Zhao, lighting designer Mark Henderson, movement director Wayne McGregor, and sound designer Helen Skiera. Casting is by Jessica Ronane CDG and Saffeya Shebli.

Porn Play is part of the Royal Court’s new season of plays for 2025, including current world premiere Cow | Deer (until 11 October), and forthcoming new Nick Payne play The Unbelievers starring Nicola Walker (from 10 October).

Ambika Mod is currently starring in Every Brilliant Thing at @SohoPlace Theatre in London, until 26 September.

Porn Play is playing at the Royal Court Theatre from 6 November to 13 December 2025.
