Tony, Olivier and Critics’ Choice Award–winning actress Jane Krakowski will join the cast of Cole Escola’s hit comedy Oh, Mary! at the Lyceum Theatre on Broadway this autumn. Krakowski, who most recently starred in Here We Are at the National Theatre in London — Stephen Sondheim’s final musical — will take on the role of Mary Todd Lincoln for an eight-week engagement from 14 October to 7 December 2025.
The Emmy-nominated star, best known to television audiences as Jenna Maroney in 30 Rock, has an extensive stage career spanning Broadway and the West End. She won a Tony Award for Nine, earned additional nominations for She Loves Me and Grand Hotel, and collected an Olivier Award for Guys and Dolls. Recent screen credits include Apple TV+’s Schmicago and Dickinson, FOX’s Name That Tune, and CBS’s Elsbeth.
Krakowski follows an illustrious line of performers who have stepped into Escola’s “bratty curls” as Mary Todd Lincoln. The role was originated by Escola, who won a Tony Award for their performance, before being played by Betty Gilpin, Tituss Burgess and most recently Jinkx Monsoon, who will conclude her run on 28 September. Original cast member Hannah Solow will cover the role between 30 September and 12 October ahead of Krakowski’s debut.

From the first time I watched Oh, Mary! downtown I thought, ‘how do I get myself on that stage in this role?’ After watching Cole take the NYC taxi ride uptown and now worshipping it four times more, I made it! Oh, Mary! is a comedic work of genius that ends up in my dream version of 7 minutes in heaven.”

Directed by Tony Award winner Sam Pinkleton, Oh, Mary! opened on Broadway in July 2024 and has since broken box office records at the Lyceum, becoming the first show in the theatre’s 121-year history to gross more than $1 million in a single week. The comedy, which won two Tony Awards, has now extended its Broadway engagement for a third time, with tickets on sale to 5 July 2026. Future productions, including potential runs in London’s West End and internationally, have yet to be revealed.
