Next month, Matilda becomes the 10th longest-running musical in West End history
The RSC has announced new casting for its long-running West End production of Matilda The Musical.
Matilda is now playing at the Cambridge Theatre in London, booking to 24 May 2026.
West End star Jon Robyns (Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera) is set to join Matilda, playing Miss Trunchbull. He takes over from Kieran Hill on 9 September 2025.
Jon Robyns is currently starring in The Great Gatsby at the London Coliseum, until 7 September.
Adult cast remaining with the show include Tiffany Graves as Mrs Wormwood, Neil McDermott as Mr Wormwood, and Eve Norris as Miss Honey.
Two new Matildas are also joining the musical from 9 September, with Edie McCaig and Emilia Shefford joining existing performers Suki Hillier and Mia Rogers in the title role.

The other young performers announced today are Sid Boyle, Ava Evangelista, Freya Fulford, John Johnson, Theo Kamande, Kanaho Kurihara, Albie Lambert, Kennedy-May McLeary, Savannah McDowell, Mason Mingle, Lola Smith, Huxley Syers, Orla Vellacott and Jihyun Yoon, who will play Bruce, Lavender, Nigel and the rest of the pupils at Crunchem Hall.
Current young cast members staying on with the show include Alexander Beaumont, William Gurney, Chase King, Reuben Laming, Maxwell McGetrick, Theo Oh, Drew Reilly, Harry Relf, Isabella Rummery, Khit Thakin and Aisha Ugurhan.
Existing ensemble members are Reece Budin, William Elijah-Lewis, Alex Louize Bird and Dawn Williams will be joined by Kofi Aidoo-Appiah, Naomi Alade, Katie Bradley, Millie Brown-Thornton, Antony Lawrence, Nick Len, Tania Mathurin, Ben Middleton, James Oliver, Stuart Rouse, Chloe Saunders and Callum Train.

Matilda The Musical is one of London’s longest-running shows, and celebrates its 15th year in London this autumn.
In April 2025 the show celebrated its 5000th performance at the Cambridge Theatre in London, and next month will become the 10th longest-running musical in West End history, beating Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story, which played for 5,140 performances. The show also becomes the 14th longest-running SHOW in West End history.
Matilda has been seen by over 12 million people across 100 cities worldwide.
The new Matilda The Musical UK and Ireland tour also kicks off this autumn, opening at the Leicester Curve on 6 October 2025, and then visiting Bradford, Liverpool, Plymouth, Sunderland, Edinburgh, Manchester, Southampton, Bristol, Birmingham, Norwich, Milton Keynes, and Cardiff.
The show has won 101 international awards, including 24 Best Musical awards.
Matilda The Musical is written by Dennis Kelly, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and developed and directed by Matthew Warchus.
The production is designed by Rob Howell, with choreography by Peter Darling, orchestrations, additional music and musical supervision by Christopher Nightingale, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker and special effects and illusions by Paul Kieve.
