Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan stars in David Mamet’s Speed-the-Plow at the Playhouse Theatre in London.

A major new revival of David Mamet’s drama Speed-the-Plow comes to London this autumn directed by multi-award winning director Lindsay Posner.

Starring Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan (Mean Girls), Richard Schiff (The West Wing) and Nigel Lindsay (Dealer’s Choice),  Speed-the-Plow is a satirical portrait of Hollywood by one of the foremost playwrights of his generation.

David Mamet is a Pulitzer Prize winning writer whose credits include Glengarry Glen Ross, Oleanna and American Buffalo.

Speed-the-Plow has become a modern classic, packing a powerful punch as a high-octane theatrical tour-de-force filled with Mamet’s trademark wit and dialogue.

Speed-the-Plow runs at the Playhouse Theatre in London from 24 September to 29 November 2014.

THE STORY

When a bankable movie star agrees to appear in a sure-fire hit, film producers Bobby Gould (Richard Schiff) and Charlie Fox (Nigel Lindsay) are absolutely convinced that this is the break they have been waiting for. That is until Karen (Lindsay Lohan), a temp working as a secretary, derails the whole dream by convincing Bobby to dump the blockbuster in favour of a story which is pure box-office poison. Backed into a corner, Charlie is forced to resort to desperate measures to rescue their dream.

THE CAST

Lindsay Lohan stars as Karen. Lindsay is a multi-award winning Hollywood actress with credits that include The Parent Trap, Herbie: Fully Loaded and Freaky Friday, Mean Girls and Robert Altman’s A Prairie Home Companion. More casting to be announced.

  1. Regardless her private life, Lohan is a good actress with character. If she puts her mind to it she will do fine. Her being a good looking girl is the added bonus.
