The Psychic, a brand new play from the creators of international hit thriller Ghost Stories, will premiere in 2026 at York Theatre Royal.
Following the success of Ghost Stories, Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman reunite for this electrifying play that promises a night of thrills, laughs, and shocks.
The play follows disgraced TV psychic Sheila Gold, who, after losing a high-profile court case that ruins her career and finances, agrees to conduct a séance for a grieving wealthy couple. But what begins as an opportunity to con them takes a dark and unexpected turn, forcing Sheila to confront unsettling truths about herself and her past.
Opening at York Theatre Royal on 6 May 2026, with previews from 29 April 2026, the show will play a limited run until 23 May 2026.

The Psychic adds to York Theatre Royal’s impressive list of produced and co-produced work on its main stage in the next year. The 2025 season includes their co-production with Wise Children of North by Northwest and Gary Oldman’s return to York Theatre Royal in Krapp’s Last Tape.
Meanwhile, Ghost Stories returns for a major UK tour in 2025, opening at Churchill Theatre Bromley on 17 January 2025 with a cast including Dan Tetsell, David Cardy, Clive Mantle, Eddie Loodmer-Elliott and Lloyd McDonagh. The UK tour includes dates in Richmond, Bath, Plymouth, Sheffield, Milton Keynes, Salford, Cheltenham, Liverpool, Woking, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Norwich, Newcastle, Nottingham, Southend, Birmingham, Belfast, Leicester, High Wycombe, Southampton, Wolverhampton, Brighton, Shrewsbury, Malvern, and Cardiff.
