Chichester Festival Theatre has announced casting for its world premiere production of Redlands by Charlotte Jones.
The play cetres on the famous 1960s drugs trial of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, and promises to be a riotous, psychedelic and hugely entertaining account of a bizarre English court case, and a turning point in the clash between the generations.
Directed by new Chichester Festival Theatre Artistic Director Justin Audibert, Redlands runs from 20 September to 18 October 2024.
The cast features Anthony Calf (One Day, The Gold, Plenty) as Michael Havers QC, Ben Caplan (Call The Midwife, Sunny Afternoon) as Allen Klein/George Harrison, Clive Francis (ENRON, The Circle) as Cecil Havers, Louis Landau (Butterfly, Rivals) as Nigel Havers, Emer McDaid (Game of Thrones, Witness for the Prosecution) as Marianne Faithfull, Brenock O’Connor (Alex Rider, Gamer of Thrones) as Keith Richards, Olivia Poulet (The Thick of It, Top Girls) as Carol Havers, and Jasper Talbot (Broadchurch) as Mick Jagger.
The cast also includes Melody Chikakane Brown as Constable Slade/Daphne, Sam Pay as Inspector Dineley/Judge Block, Akshay Sharan as PC Willis/Vivek Chakrabarti, and Adam Young as Sniderman/Derek Carter. The ensemble includes Ella Tekere, Riley Woodford and Lara Rose McCabe.
Charlotte Jones’s other plays include award-winner Humble Boy, which played at the National Theatre, in the West End and on Broadway.
Joining Justin Audibert in the creative team are set designer Joanna Scotcher, costume designer Ryan Dawson Laight, lighting designer Matt Daw, composer and orchestrator Benjamin Kwasi Burrell, sound designer Claire Windsor, musical director Alan Berry, movement director Shanelle ‘Tali’ Fergus, associate director Julia Head and the casting director Ginny Schiller CDG.
Redlands plays at Chichester Festival Theatre from 20 September to 18 October 2024.
