First-look: Charlie Brooks as The Childcatcher & more photos of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang UK Tour

Production photos have come in for the major new UK tour of hit West End musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

The photos offer a first look at TV and stage star Charlie Brooks (Janine in EastEnders) who plays The Childcatcher in the show, alongside Adam Garcia (The Masked Singer, 42nd Street, Saturday Night Fever, Wicked) as Caractacus Potts (until 20 October 2024), Emmerdale star Liam Fox as Grandpa Potts, and Ellie Nunn (Gatsy, Shakespeare in Love) as Truly Scrumptious.

Elaine C. Smith (Rab C. Nesbitt, Naked Video) will play the The Childcatcher on the Scottish dates of the tour in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Inverness; and Charlie Brooks will play The Childcatcher at all other dates until 29 September 2024, with further casting for the role to be announced.

The cast also includes Martin Callaghan as the Baron/Sid, Jenny Gayner as the Baroness/Violet, Adam Stafford as Boris, Michael Joseph as Goran, and John Macaulay as the Toymaker, plus Charlie Bishop, Ruaraidh Blackwood, Hadrian Delacey, Belle Kizzy Green, Tia Gyngell, Kirsty Ingram, Bibi Jay, Isabella Mason, Joe Press, Theo UK Rose, Molly Rees Howe, Callum Train and Luke Woollaston.

The children’s roles of Jeremy and Jemima Potts are shared by Gracie Cochrane, Ayrton English, Isla Ithier, Isabella Manning, Charlie McGuire, Jasmine Nyenya, Roshan Thomson and Louis Wilkins.

The tour started at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton in April and is now travelling the UK – see all tour dates here.

Based on Ian Fleming’s timeless story for children and later made into the famous 1968 film, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang features the unforgettable songs by the Sherman Brothers including Toot Sweets, Hushabye Mountain, Truly Scrumptious and the Academy Award-nominated title song, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

This all-new production is directed by Thom Southerland (Titanic, Parade) and choreographed by Karen Bruce (Strictly Come Dancing, The Bodyguard), with Set and Costume design by Morgan Large (Newsies, Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat), Lighting design by Ben Cracknell, Sound design by Gareth Tucker, Musical Supervision by George Dyer (The Wizard of Oz, Annie, Billy Elliot) and casting by Debbie O’Brien.
