Peter Wright’s classic Royal Ballet production of The Nutcracker returns to the Royal Opera House this Christmas.
No Christmas in London is complete without a visit to see the Royal Ballet’s magical production of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker.
A young girl’s enchanted present leads to wonderful adventures. The stage sparkles with theatrical magic as a Christmas tree grows before our eyes, toy soldiers come to life to fight the villainous Mouse King and Clara is whisked to the Land of Sweets on a golden sleigh.
Tchaikovsky’s score continues to delight each new generation with some of the best-known melodies in ballet, from the Waltz of the Snowflakes to the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.
Designed by Julia Trevelyan Oman, this classic production completes any festive season.
The Nutcracker runs from 3 December 2018 until 15 January 2019 at the Royal Opera House, London.
