Henry Goodman reprises his wildly acclaimed performance as Arturo Ui in the Chichester Festival Theatre production of Brecht’s The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui at the Duchess Theatre.
There is never a dull moment in this version of Bertolt Brecht’s funny, sharp and thrilling take on the rise of Hitler, all shot through with razor-sharp wit.
Henry Goodman is hypnotic as Arturo Ui, in his finely-detailed account of a Thirties American gangster who is unmistakably Adolf Hitler.
His tour de force performance reveals the growth of a man from upstart to megalomaniac, as Ui slowly exerts a stranglehold over Chicago and neighbouring Cicero in Jonathan Church’s superlative production.
The cast includes Henry Goodman, Michael Feast, William Gaunt, Joe McGann, Keith Baxter and Lizzy McInnerny.
