The brand new, UK production of Clueless The Musical featuring original songs, has revealed casting for the show, ahead of its Churchill Theatre Bromley.
The musical adaptation of classic 90’s movie Clueless is getting a two-week development run in London, with big plans for the show.
Clueless will star New York-based actor Emma Flynn (Little Shop of Horrors) in the central role of Cher, alongside Annie Southall (The Wizard of Oz) as Tai, Madison McBride (Full Circle) as Dionne, Solomon Davy (Grease The Musical) as Christian, and Keelan McAuley as Josh.
The musical will also feature Ian Kelsey as Mel, Simeon Wynne as Murray, Owen Lloyd as Travis, Tom Liggins as Elton, Julie Yammanee as Miss Geist/Millie Stoeger, Jacqueline Hughes as Lucy, plus Jack Bromage, Ella Daini, Ross Dorrington, Ellen Hillman, Blake Jordan, Alessia McDermott, Owen McHugh and Scarlet Roche.
The show has top-notch creators, including a book by the original film’s writer-director Amy Heckerling, music by Brit Award winner singer-songwriter KT Tunstall (Saving Grace), and lyrics by Grammy Award winner and three-time Tony Award nominee Glenn Slater (Tangled, Sister Act The Musical, The Little Mermaid, Love Never Dies, School of Rock).
Based on Jane Austen’s classic novel Emma, this new version of Clueless will be directed by Sarna Lapine, who directed the acclaimed Broadway revival of Sunday in the Park with George starring Jake Gyllenhaal.
A previous musical version of Clueless premiered off-Broadway in 2018, not with original songs but as a juke-box musical featuring 80s & 90’s hits.
Clueless the Musical is playing at the Churchill Theatre Bromley from 12 to 24 February 2024.
