Wild About You, A New Musical currently in development is set to have an all-star cast recording produced by Broadway Records.
The all-star cast reads like a who’s who of Broadway, including Tony, Grammy and Emmy-winning artists: Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, Here Lies Love), Alex Newell (Shucked, Once On This Island), Joaquina Kalukango (Into the Woods), Jenn Colella (Come From Away), Eric McCormack (Will & Grace), Aisha Jackson (Once Upon A One More Time, Waitress), Noah Ricketts (Frozen, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), and Jay McKenzie (Paradise Square, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical).
The Wild About You album is produced by Brian Spector, Daniel Edmonds, and Michael J. Moritz Jr., and is set for a release through Broadway Records in October this year. Arrangements, orchestrations and music production are by Daniel Edmonds. Tony-winning producer Michael J. Moritz Jr. will provide additional production and mixing.
Wild About You, which was previously titled With(out) Her, features music and lyrics by Chilina Kennedy, a book by Eric Holmes and Lorin Latarro in the director’s chair. The storyline, set to a pop-folk score, revolves around Olivia, waking up in a hospital with a hazy memory, attempting to piece together her life. The narrative explores themes of love, loss, and rediscovery.
The show had an industry presentation in New York in March 2023 and is looking to be presented in concert in London in the spring of 2024, followed by a first development production in autumn 2024.
