Robert Bathurst (Cold feet, Downton Abbey) is set to star in the comedy, which once again plays the legendary Coach and Horses pub in Soho, famous watering hole of Waterhouse, Bernard, Francis Bacon, John Hurt, George Melly, Peter O’Toole, Peter Cook and many more.

Produced by theatre company Defibrillator Theatre, and directed by their artistic director James Hillier, the play runs on selected dates in October and November, starting on 29 October 2023.

Waterhouse’s play is about legendary real-life fleet street journalist Jeffrey Bernard, and enjoyed huge success when it opened in 1989 starring Peter O’Toole, including a run at the Apollo Theatre, and subsequent revival at The Old Vic.
