A brand new musical based on the hit movie The Devil Wears Prada is coming to London’s West End.

As rumoured back in February, multi-Tony Award winning Broadway and West End director Jerry Mitchell (Legally Blonde, Pretty Woman, Kinky Boots) is set to direct and choreograph the West End version of The Devil Wears Prada, following last year’s Chicago pre-Broadway try-out for the show.

The Chicago production, directed by directed by Anna D. Shapiro, didn’t get great reviews, but has been substantially reworked since, ready for a West End opening – and the London show will be a brand-new, reimagined production.

Jerry Mitchell is currently in London ahead of the Devil Wears Prada announcement, where he saw a performance of The Little Big Things at the @sohoplace theatre. He said of the show on Instagram that “Sometimes Theater Can Change everything! THIS is one of those times!”. His rave review follows that of Andrew Lloyd Webber, who described the show as “a total triumph“.
