Stunning new musical Trompe L’Oeil is coming to The Other Palace in London this October 2023.
In the show, cabaret, queer theatre, politics, and circus collide in this tongue-in-cheek musical, inspired by famous surrealist pieces of art such as The Escherian Stairwell, Magritte’s apples and Salvador Dali’s melting clocks.
Using the trompe l’oeil illusionary art form as its inspiration and within the show, the musical is written by Henry Parkman Biggs and directed by Blair Anderson (The SpongeBob Musical), and makes use of a wide range of musical genres, and its songs also contain cryptic and hidden messages.
After a successful Off-Broadway run in 2021, a London fringe run in 2022, and a spring presentation in Paris, this updated production of Trompe L’oeil will now premiere at The Other Palace.
Trompe L’Oeil is playing in the Studio space of The Other Palace theatre in London from 28 September to 15 October 2023.
