ABOUT Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is the spectacular musical based on Roald Dahl’s much-loved book now playing at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
ROALD DAHL’s deliciously dark tale of young Charlie Bucket and the mysterious confectioner Willy Wonka comes to life in Academy Award® winner Sam Mendes (Skyfall) production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Starring Olivier Award winner Jonathan Slinger as Willy Wonka, this spectacular musical features stunning sets and costumes by Mark Thompson (Mamma Mia!), breathtaking choreography by Peter Darling (Billy Elliot The Musical; Matilda The Musical) and acclaimed music and lyrics by the team that created Hairspray The Musical – Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.
Now entering its final year in the West End, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is one of the biggest and most spectacular shows you will ever see.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory runs until 7 January 2017 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
When Charlie wins a golden ticket to the weird and wonderful Wonka Chocolate Factory, it’s the chance of a lifetime to feast on the sweets he’s always dreamed of. But beyond the gates astonishment awaits, as down the sugary corridors and amongst the incredible edible delights, the five lucky winners discover not everything is as sweet as it seems.
A chocolate garden, an army of squirrels and the curiously peculiar Oompa-Loompas must be believed to be seen in this gigantic musical that is choc-full of fantastical treats to dazzle your senses.
The cast includes Jonathan Slinger as Willy Wonka, Barry James as Grandpa Joe, Josefina Gabrielle as Mrs Teavee, and Chris Grahamson and Lara Denning as Charlie’s parents Mr and Mrs Bucket.
The show also stars Ross Dawes (Mr Salt), Jasna Ivir (Mrs Gloop), Paul J Medford (Mr Beauregarde), Kraig Thornber (Grandpa George), Roni Page (Grandma Josephine) and Myra Sands (Grandma Georgina).
