Edinburgh Fringe hit Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder! has revealed casting ahead of the show’s return to Edinburgh, and a mini UK tour.
The show’s original cast are set to reprise their roles in a new, expanded version of the murder mystery musical, including Bronté Barbé (Newsies) as Kathy, Rebekah Hinds (Oklahoma!) as Stella, Jodie Jacobs (Rock of Ages) as Felicia, TJ Lloyd (Guys and Dolls) as Justin, and Imelda Warren-Green (Doctor Who: Time Fracture) as Erica.
New cast joining the production will be Jacob Kohli, Chelsea Hall and Sarah Pearson.
As announced in March, this new expanded version of Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder! will play the Underbelly at the Edinburgh Fringe from 2 to 27 August 2023, and then head out on tour to the Bristol Old Vic from 13 to 30 September, and HOME Manchester from 5 to 21 October 2023.
There is also much chatter that the show may end up with a West End run later in the year.
Billed as a big-hearted, laugh-out-loud musical, the show boasts a book and lyrics by Jon Brittain and music and lyrics by Matthew Floyd Jones.
The full creative team also includes Fabian Aloise as Co-director and Choreographer, Cecilia Carey as Set and Costume Designer, Tingying Dong as Co-Sound Designer, Dan Samson as Co-Sound Designer, Peter Small as Lighting Designer, Charlie Ingles as Orchestrator, Charlie Martin as Associate Director, Caitlin Morgan as Associate Musical Director, Bethany Gupwell as Associate Lighting Designer, Ed Borgnis as Production Manager, Inga Davis-Rutter as Musical Supervisor, Anna Dixon as Costume Supervisor, Charlotte King as Props Supervisor, Gillian Greer as Dramaturge, Annelie Powell as Casting Director and Alice Walters as Assistant Casting Director. The Stage Management Team will be Titch Gosling, Caoimhe Regan and Rosie Bannister. The musicians will be Laura Browne and Philip Williams.
The show scored great reviews when it played Edinburgh last year.
The show is produced by Francesca Moody Productions (Fleabag), Kater Gordon, Wessex Grove and Fiery Angel.
