Plaza Suite tickets at the Savoy Theatre in London are now on sale for its limited West End run. Neil Simon's Broadway hit comedy stars A-list married in real life couple Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker. The highly anticipated shows transfers to London's Savoy Theatre following a sell-out Broadway run. Matthew Broderick is a two-time Tony Award winner who rose to fame in the 1980s starring in teen cult films Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Glory and War Games. On stage he has appeared in The Producers, Torch Song Trilogy and The Starry Messenger. Two-time Emmy Award winner Sarah Jessica Parker makes her West End debut in Plaza Suite. She is currently starring in the Sex and the City reboot And Just Like That on HBO in the US and Now TV / Sky in the UK. Broderick and Parker play three different couples in the comedy set in the suite of the Plaza hotel. Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) pulled out all the stops last night at its annual summer party, with a glittering array of West End and Broadway stars. Led by Mark Cornell, it has been quite a year for ATG, with a new expansion in the US, and a continued dominance of theatre ownership in London and around the UK. They own or operate over 59 theatres in the UK, US and Germany. The party was held at Kensington Palace Gardens in honour of Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, who are in town to promote the launch of Plaza Suite, coming to the Savoy Theatre in January 2024. It will be Sarah's West End stage debut, and will be one of the hottest tickets in town. The party was in support of Sir Sam Mendes’ Theatre Artists Fund (TAF), raising money to launch their new initiative for technical theatre talent, to develop careers and inspire positive change in the industry. Guests in attendance at the ATG summer party included a who's who of talent from recent, current and upcoming ATG Productions, and shows in their venues - from A Little Life with James Norton, to current hit Cabaret, and forthcoming show Plaza Suite. Directed by Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey, Plaza Suite will play a strictly limited season at the Savoy Theatre from 15 January to 31 March 2024 with tickets on sale in September 2023. Matthew Broderick returns to the West End stage following his acclaimed run in The Starry Messenger in 2019. The production played to sold-out houses and shattered multiple box-office records at the Hudson Theatre, becoming the third-highest grossing play revival in Broadway history during its limited 19-week engagement. The show see the couple play three different couples in one famous hotel room. Matthew Broderick plays Sam Nash/Jesse Kiplinger/Roy Hubley and Sarah Jessica Parker plays Karen Nash/Muriel Tate/Norma Hubley. Karen and Sam are a long-married pair whose relationship may be headed for an early checkout. Muriel and Jesse are former high school sweethearts who seem destined for an extended stay. And Norma and Roy are the mother and father of the bride, ready to celebrate their daughter’s nuptials – if only they can get her out of the bathroom.
