A Little Life to transfer to the Savoy Theatre starring James Norton, Omari Douglas, Luke Thompson, Zach Wyatt

Due to unprecedented demand for tickets, the producers of A Little Life are moving the show to the Savoy Theatre in London.

The play starts its run at the Harold Pinter Theatre on 25 March, playing to 18 June 2023. A Little Life will then move to the Savoy Theatre from 4 July to 5 August 2023.

Based on Hanya Yanagihara’s New York Times best-selling novel, A Little Life is directed by Ivo van Hove (All About Eve, A View From The Bridge, West Side Story), and stars James Norton (Happy Valley) as lawyer Jude, Omari Douglas (It’s A Sin, Cabaret) as artist JB, Luke Thompson (Bridgerton) as actor Willem, and Zach Wyatt (The Witcher) as architect Malcolm.

The supporting cast includes 2023 Olivier nominated actor Zubin Varla (Tammy Faye) as Harold, Elliot Cowan (The Crown) as Brother Luke/Doctor Traylor/Caleb, Nathalie Armin (Home, The Doctor) as Ana and Emilio Doorgasingh (Game of Thrones) as Andy.

Currently playing at the Savoy Theatre is Pretty Woman The Musical, which ends its London run on 18 June 2023, before embarking on a UK tour.

Currently running at the Harold Pinter Theatre is Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons starring Aidan Turner and Jenna Coleman, which finishes on 18 March 2023.

A Little Life follows four college classmates in the US as they move to New York to pursue their careers, and is layered with complicated themes based around sexuality, friendship, race, abuse and addiction.

Ivo van Hove has previously directed the play in Amsterdam, Edinburgh, New York and Australia. It is adapted for the stage by Koen Tachelet, Ivo van Hove and Hanya Yanagihara.

Producers of the show, Wessex Grove’s Benjamin Lowy and Emily Vaughan-Barratt said in a statement: “We could not be more delighted to have the opportunity to extend A Little Life in the West End this summer. Hanya’s book has had a profound impact on so many people’s lives, and it’s a privilege to witness the way in which the production is being embraced by audiences. We’ve just finished rehearsals, and it’s been extraordinary to watch Ivo and this incredible group of actors discover this story anew on stage. It’s a beautiful piece of theatre, and we’re delighted our company want to continue performing the play together at the iconic theatre that is the Savoy – a real honour for a straight play to perform on that stage.”
