A brand new theatre restaurant and bar is coming to London later this month.
Stars Restaurant & Bar is housed in the brand new West End theatre @sohoplace – the first new West End theatre to open for 50 years.
The theatre opens this Saturday, 15 October, with the play Marvellous. The new theatre has 602 seats at its 4 Soho Place location, situated on Charing Cross Road and near to Tottenham Court Road underground station.
The theatre’s new restaurant and bar will officially open on 18 October 2022, on the ground level of the theatre. Promising contemporary international cuisine using fine British and European produce, the Head Chef will be Constantin Apostu, who was formerly at The Standard Hotel.
Nica Burns, Chief Executive of Nimax Theatres, who own a number of West End theatres in London, was very involved in the design of the restaurant and bar, and worked closely with the venue’s architects Simon Allford of AHMM.
The restaurant has 70 seats, and a 25-seater bar with a Labradorite bar-top. The bar will offer classic and modern cocktails, some with theatrical or astrological themes.
Marvellous, which will will run at @sohoplace from 15 October to 26 November 2022, is written by Neil Baldwin and Malcolm Clarke, and adapted for the stage by Neil Baldwin and the show’s director Theresa Heskins. Nica Burns and Nimax have also revealed that Josie Rourke and Dominic Cooke will also be directing shows at the venue.
