Owen Teale in A Christmas Carol

Owen Teale will star in A Christmas Carol at The Old Vic this winter.

Welsh actor Owen Teale will play Ebenezer Scrooge in Jack Thorne’s adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

Owen Teal is best known for his tv roles including HBO series Game of Thrones, Sky 1 series A Discovery of Witches, Line of Duty and Stella. He studied at the Guildford School of Acting and made his his television debut in The Mimosa Boys in 1984 and film debut in War Requiem in 1989.

Television roles include: The Hollow Crown, Kidnap and Ransom, River, Pulse, The Pembrokeshire Murders and The Rig 

Film roles include: Robin Hood, The Hawk, The Cherry Orchard, King Arthus, The Last Legion, Love Me Forever, It’s Alive, HUnky Dory, The Fold, Nocturne, Tolkien and Dream Horse.

His extensive theatre includes No Man’s Land with Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart; Under Milk Wood, Mary Stuart, Macbeth (TheatrClwyd); Creditors (Donmar/BAM); Rutherford and Son (Sheffield Crucible); Julius Caesar, Henry IV, King Lear (RSC); Ivanov (National Theatre); and,The Country (Royal Court). 

A Christmas Carol is booking from 12 November 2022 to 7 January 2023 at the Old Vic Theatre.
