News reaches Binkie from across the pond that Broadway is to get its very own board game.
“Be a Broadway Star” promises to help you make it big on the Great White Way, and provides lots of opportunities to “show off your stuff along the way” through interactive “make or break” cards that demand some competitive acting and dancing.
The game forces you to start at the bottom – in acting school, before working your way up to your name in lights – from buying pictures and CVs, getting your Equity card, an agent and auditions, to receiving your first Tony!
We are intrigued, and now demand that someone comes up with “Be a West End star” that features our very own Theatreland game of chance. Either that or a natty Monopoly-style West End Theatreland game, allowing you to buy and sell theatres like Michael Grade and Llord Lloyd Webber, be a Cameron Mackintosh or David Pugh impresario or inadvertently land on a subsidised theatre and have your cash pile immediately slashed!
Calls in to Mattel and Hasbro are yet to be returned but we are sure it will be a hit!
