First look at the UK tour of Wait Until Dark
Frederick Knott’s suspense thriller stars Jack Ellis (Bad Girls), Oliver Mellor (Coronation Street), and Karina Jones, alongside Graeme Brookes, Tim Treloar, Shannon Rewcroft and Thomas McCarron.
Best known for penning Dial M For Murder, Frederick Knott’s Wait Until Dark follows the story of a blind woman, Susy, who becomes the victim of an elborate scam. Left to fend for herself, Susy eventually finds a way to turn the tables on the conmen and give them a taste of life in the dark.
Set amidst the social turbulence of 1960s London, the film adaptation starred Audrey Hepburn, and is often ranked among the top 100 scariest films of all time.
Wait Until Dark is directed by Alastair Whatley, with designs by David Woodhead, lighting by Chris Withers, sound and music by Giles Thomas, and fight coordination by Rc-Annie.
The tour opened at Devonshire Park Theatre in Eastbourne on 24 August 2017 and will continue Richmond Theatre (4 – 9 September), Cheltenham (12 – 16 September), Cambridge (19 – 23 September), Salisbury (25 – 30 September), Exeter (3 – 7 October), Lichfield (10 – 14 October), Malvern (24 – 28 October), Southend (31 October – 4 November), Ipswich (6 – 11 November), Cardiff (14 – 18 November), York (21 – 25 November), and Guildford (8 November – 2 December).
