Final casting has been announced for Jamie Lloyd’s production of Apologia at Trafalgar Studios.
Laura Carmichael joins previously announced Tony and Emmy award winner Stockard Channing, Freema Agyeman, Joseph Millson and Olivier Award winner Desmond Barrit.
Laura is best known for her portrayal of ‘Lady Edith Crawley’ over six seasons in ITV’s award winning series ‘Downton Abbey’.
She was last seen on stage in Jamie Lloyd’s contemporary adaptation of Jean Genet’s psychological thriller ‘The Maids’ alongside ‘Orange Is the New Black’ actress Uzo Aduba and ‘Fresh Meat’s’ Zawe Ashton
Carmichael will play the role of Trudi, the American partner of Kristin Miller’s (Stockard Channing) oldest son Peter, played by Joseph Millson.
The darkly funny and haunting drama about family and its secrets is by Alexi Kaye Campbell whose other work includes ‘The Pride’, ‘Sunset at The Villa Thalia’ at the National Theatre and ‘The Faith Machine’ at the Royal Court Theatre.
Apologia will run from 29 July 2017 until 18 November 2017 at Trafalgar Studios.
