Miranda Hart certainly looks the part as she takes on the iconic role of Miss Hannigan in the West End production Annie.

Production images have been released of the West End’s newest musical which opens on 5 June 2017 at the Piccadilly Theatre.

Hart leads the cast in her first major West End role, alongside Alex Bourne as Daddy Warbucks, Holly Dale Spencer as Grace Farrell, Jonny Fines as Rooster and Djalenga Scott as Lily.

The title role Annie is played by Madeleine Haynes, Lola Moxom and Ruby Stokes.

The much loved musical premiered in the West End at the Victoria Palace Theatre in 1978 and was last revived in the West End in 1998 at the same venue.

Set in an 1930’s New York, orphan Annie is forced to live a miserable life at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage. The hit musical has an award-winning book and score with unforgettable songs ‘It’s the Hard Knock Life’, ‘Easy Street’, ‘I Don’t Need Anything But You’ and ‘Tomorrow’.
