Full casting has been announced for the Arcola Theatre’s new production of Shakespeare’s Richard III.

RSC Associate Artist Greg Hicks will star as the tyrant king Richard, in a thrilling new production directed by the Arcola’s Artistic Director Mehmet Ergen. Hicks returns to the Arcola having previously played Morris Honeyspoon in two sold-out acclaimed runs of Clarion, Dr Thomas Stockmann in An Enemy of the People (both directed by Mehmet Ergen) and The Kreutzer Sonata.

Hicks’ extensive theatre credits include Macbeth, Julius Caesar, Coriolanus and King Lear for the Royal Shakespeare
Company, Acastos, The Orestia, Bacchai and The Romans in Britain for the National Theatre, and Coriolanus at the Old Vic.

The rest of the cast are Jane Bertish (In The Depths of Dead Love, The Print Room), Jim Bywater (Clarion/The Cherry Orchard), Jamie de Courcey (Netflix series The Crown), Femi Elufowoju Jr, Annie Firbank (Oresteia, Almeida), Peter Guinness (DaVinci’s Demons), Mark Jax (Pravda, NT), Paul Kemp (Peter Pan, RSC), Sara Powell (The Crucible, Old Vic), Georgina Rich (Rabbit Hole, Hampstead), Matthew Sim (Saint Joan, NT).

Richard III runs from 11 May 2017 until 10 June 2017 at the Arcola Theatre.
