The forthcoming stage adaptation of Sleepless in Seattle starring Danny Mac and Carley Stenson has been postponed indefinitely.

The world premiere of Sleepless the Musical was due to open 1 April 2017 at the Theatre Royal Plymouth however a statement confirmed that “an illness within the producer’s family and overwhelming unexpected circumstances” meant the show’s scheduled dates have been cancelled.

The new musical had agreed dates for Salford and Dublin as well as plans for a West End.

Sleepless has music by Robert Scott, lyrics by Brendan Cull and a book by Michael Burdett. It was due to be directed by Morgan Young (Elf, White Christmas, Big), with set design by Morgan Large, costume design by Sue Simmerling, lighting by Tim Lutkin.

Jennie Dale and Cory English had also been cast in leading roles.
