The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? at the Theatre Royal Haymarket starring Damian Lewis
Widely regarded as his late masterpiece, Edward Albee’s The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia is brought back to the London stage following Albee’s recent death.
Former Royal Court Artistic Director Ian Rickson will direct Damian Lewis and Sophie Okonedo in a new production of Albee’s TONY® Award Winning black comedy about a family in crisis.
The Goat has all of Albee’s characteristically witty tones as well as being a deeply tragic portrayal of a couple and their teenage son in crisis when the father embarks on an improbable and impossible love affair from which there is no return.
The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? will have a limited 12 week run from 24 March 2017 until 24 June 2017 at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.
Martin is at the pinnacle of life: he has a loving wife and son, a hugely successful career as an architect, and the commission of a lifetime. As he prepares to celebrate his success, he betrays a dark secret to his best friend that triggers a tragic series of events.
As those he loves struggle to comprehend his secret, Martin is forced to watch as his ordered and secure world is destroyed around him. But who is Sylvia?

Adapted and directed by Neal Foster it features design by Jackie Trousdale, lighting by Jason Taylor, sound by Nick Sagar, music by Jak Poore and choreography by Paul Chantry & Rae Piper of Chantry Dance Company.
