War Horse actor Jeremy Irvine has been cast in Scott Elliott’s West End production of Buried Child.

Irvine is best known for appearing in Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of War Horse and will join the previously announced Ed Harris and Amy Madigan who starred in an off-Broadway revival of the play earlier this year.

Sam Shepard’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play is about a family disenfranchised with the American Dream, set against a backdrop of an economic slowdown. A dark, macabre and painfully funny family drama, Buried Child is to American’s what Harold Pinter’s The Homecoming is to the Britsh.

It is to the American theatre what Harold Pinter’s The Homecoming is to the British stage, the classic domestic dram – a classic domestic drama.

Buried Child runs from 24 November 2016 until 18 February 2017 at Trafalgar Studios.
