The 70th annual Tony Award-winners have been announced with Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical Hamilton dominating the night with 11 awards.

Hamilton received a record breaking 16 nominations, winning awards for Best Costume, Lighting, Choreography, Book, Orchestrations, Score, Director, Featured Actress (Renée Elise Goldsberry), Featured Actor (Daveed Diggs), Best Actor (Leslie Odom Jr) and Best Musical.

The West End bound musical which tells the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton was one award short of matching The Producers which won 12 awards in 2001.

British actress Cynthia Erivo, whose West End credits include I Can’t Sing and Sister Act, won Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her performance in the Broadway transfer of the Menier Chocolate Factory’s The Color Purple. The production also won Best Revival of a Musical. Erivo was nominated for an Ian Charleson Award in 2015.

Jessica Lange won Best Leading Actress in a play for Jonathan Kent’s production of Long Day’s Journey Into Night; Kent missed out on Best Director with the award going to Ivo van Hove for A View From the Bridge.

Florian Zeller’s hit play The Father continues to win accolades with Frank Langella winning Best Leading Actor in a Play.

See below for a full list of winners.

The awards were presented in a ceremony at the Beacon Theatre in New York City last night, hosted by Tony Award winner and The Late Late Show host James Corden. The evening included performances from all the nominated Best Musicals and Best Musical revivals including: Hamilton, School of Rock and The Color Purple.
