Stevie Nicks makes Broadway debut in surprise performance in School of Rock – The Musical

Supported by the kids band of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock Stevie Nicks, the Queen of Rock N’ Roll, surprised the audience at the Winter Garden Theatre last night when she took the stage and sang “Rhiannon”.

The Grammy Award-winning singer said “To be in the presence of these kids that are so amazing that honestly sometimes I close my eyes and I’m not sure that it’s not Fleetwood Mac. It’s very trippy. They are so good.”

Based on the 2003 film starring Jack Black, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock opened to critical acclaim in 2015 and has since broken the box office record at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre multiple times.

The West End production of School of Rock – The Musical will open at the London Palladium in 2017.   Plans for the London production are well underway with the search for young performers beginning last weekend.

School of Rock – The Musical will run from 24 October 2016 at the New London Theatre.
