Classic American musical Show Boat sails into the New London Theatre

The ground-breaking classic American musical Show Boat sails into London’s West End for the first time in almost 20 years, direct from a hugely successful and critically acclaimed run at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre.

The show’s Broadway premiere changed musical theatre forever in 1927, and this lavish new production proves that its timeless themes and peerless music remain as vital, passionate and moving as ever.

So hop on board the Cotton Blossom show boat, and be swept away by one of the most romantic musicals of all time, directed by Daniel Evans and featuring the timeless songs Ol’ Man River, Make Believe and Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man from Jerome Kern, with lyrics and book by Oscar Hammerstein II.

We went to see this show on Friday 21st August 2016, and it was fantastic.my mum took me to see this show at Doncasters grand theatre when I was just a young girl of 12, and that was when I fell in love with the theatre. The cast of showboat both times were great and in London on Friday night we gave them a standing ovation.
    Regard
