John Partridge, Hayley Tamaddon and Sam Bailey are to star in a new National tour of the hit Kander and Ebb musical Chicago.
Partridge will play Billy Flynn, with Tamaddon as Roxie Hart and Bailey as Mama Morton. Full casting is yet to be announced.
Partridge is best known for playing the role of Christian Clarke in EasEnders however his many musical theatre credits include Rum Tum Tugger in Cats in the West End, on tour and the official film of the show, John in Miss Saigon on the first UK national tour and most recently Zach in A Chorus Line at the London Palladium.
Hayley Tamaddon has just finished playing Andrea Beckett in Coronation Street having previously played Del Dingle in Emmerdale. Her numerous theatre credits include The Lady of the Lake in Spamalot and Janet in The Rocky Horror Show. Hayley also won the 5th series of ITV1’s Dancing on Ice.
Sam Bailey won the tenth series of The X Factor, prior to this she worked as a prison offer at HM Prison Gartree.
The National Tour will open at the New Theatre in Oxford on 12 February 2016 running until 9 July 2016, it is then schedule to play at Bristol Hippodrome, Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre, Manchester Opera House, the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin and the Edinburgh Playhouse.
Chicago opened in the West End in 1997 and ran for 15 years, it is currently playing in New York where it holds the record as the longest running musical revival and also the second longest running musical in Broadway history.
