Jules Verne’s classic 1873 novel, Around the World in 80 Days, will open at the St. James Theatre this Christmas.
Lucy Bailey will direct a new adaptation by playwright Laura Eason, a writer on hit Netflix series House of Cards, at the St. James Theatre merely a stone’s throw from the Reform Club on Pall Mall where Phileas Fogg’s adventure begins.
Around the World in 80 Days will play a strictly limited run for eight weeks from 26 November 2015 until 16 January 2016 at the St James Theatre.

Having been performed across the globe, this Christmas Laura Eason’s celebrated adaptation of one of the world’s most beloved tales arrives in London in a dazzling new production directed by Lucy Bailey. A cast of eight play over 100 characters in this imaginative, high-spirited escapade for all the family; including six trains, five boats, four fights, three dances, two circus acts and an elephant!
Simon Gregor will play Passepartout, with Tony Gardner as Inspector Fix, Shanaya Rafaat as Mrs Aouda and Eben Figueiredo and Tim Steed in the ensemble.
Laura Eason’s adaptation will be directed by Lucy Bailey and composed by Django Bates withset design by Anna Fleischle, lighting by Chris Davey and sound by Mic Pool.
