Macbeth at the Young Vic
The Young Vic, 66 The Cut, Waterloo, London, SE1 8LZ
Carrie Cracknell and Lucy Guerin direct a new vision of Macbeth at the Young Vic.
Betrayal, jealousy and suspicion reign in Scotland as Shakespeare’s tragedy of the desperate desire for power is redrawn in an ambitious new staging. In this world premiere Cracknell and Guerin use the power of dance and theatre; As we are propelled towards the play’s conclusion and the thundering armies approach, both reason and the text begin to falter and fragment and are overwhelmed by stark and brutal choreography.
Macbeth plays for a strictly limited run at the Young Vic theatre from 26 November 2015 til 16 January 2015.
Direction by Carrie Cracknell and Lucy Guerin, design by Lizzie Clachan, lighting by Neil Austin and costumes by Merle Hensel.
