Hollywood heartthrob Bradley Cooper has hinted that he is bringing his sell-out Broadway performance in The Elephant Man to London’s West End.

The Oscar-nominated American Hustle and Silver Linings Playbook star is slated to star in The Elephant Man at the Theatre Royal Haymarket for a limited season from 18 May to 9 August 2015.

Directed to Scott Ellis, the Broadway revival of the show has proved a big success and is currently playing at the Booth Theatre until 22 February 2015.

Bradley Cooper confirmed the West End run and dates to Howard Stern during a recent radio interview.

Bernard Pomerance’s 1979 modern classic is about the real-life Englishman Joseph Merrick, who lived in 19th Century England and was severely disfigured. The story is about his struggle to live with dignity with his disability.

The Broadway cast of the show are believed to all be travelling to London for the West End run, including Alessandro Nivola and Patricia Clarkson, along with Anthony Heald, Scott Lowell, Kathryn Meisle, Henry Stram, Chris Bannow, Peter Bradbury, Lucas Calhoun, Eric Clem, Amanda Lea Mason, Marguerite Stimpson and Emma Thorne.

A 1980 movie version of The Elephant Man starred recent New Year Honours recipient John Hurt.

Taken at Midnight starring Penelope Wilton is the next show up at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, running from 15 January to 14 March 2015.

The show features sets and projections by Timothy R. Mackabee, costumes by Clint Ramos, lighting by Philip S. Rosenberg and sound by John Gromada.
