A new production of Mary Chase’s comedy Harvey may be heading to the West End.
Directed by Lindsay Posner (Speed-the-Plow), the show is about to embark on a major UK tour in 2015 starring James Dreyfus (Gimme, Gimme, Gimme).
Rumours are that if the show does well, it will come into the West End.
The show kicks off its tour at the Birmingham Rep on 6 February 2015 starring James Dreyfus as Elwood P. Dowd.
Produced by Don Gregory, who also produced the play on Broadway in 2012 and a TV adaptation with Leslie Nielsen in 1998, the comedy is about Elwood P. Dowd, who forms an unwavering friendship with a six-foot tall, invisible rabbit named Harvey!
The show originally premiered on Broadway in 1944. The last West End production was in 1995 at the Shaftesbury Theatre starring Rue McClanahan and Gordon Kaye.
