Universal Pictures and Disney have released a brand new behind-the-scenes featurette ahead of the forthcoming movie adaptation of Sondheim’s Into the Woods, featuring James Corden, Emily Blunt, Chris Pine, Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp.
The big-budget Hollywood version of Stephen Sondheim’s Broadway musical Into the Woods is in post-production, ready for a 9 January 2015 UK release date (25 December 2014 in the USA).
The featurette includes interviews with some of the main cast including Emily Blunt, Chris Pine and Meryl Streep, plus director Rob Marshall and composer Stephen Sondheim.
Rob Marshall is directing the movie which will stars Meryl Streep as The Witch, Emily Blunt as the Baker’s Wife, James Corden as the Baker, Anna Kendrick as Cinderella, Chris Pine as Cinderella’s Prince, Johnny Depp as the Wolf, Daniel Huttlestone as Jack, Lilla Crawford as Little Red, Tracey Ullman as Jack’s Mother, Christine Baranski as the Stepmother, MacKenzie Mauzy as Rapunzel and Billy Magnussen as Rapunzel’s Prince.
Other British stars involved in he movie include Frances de la Tour as the Giant, Simon Russell Beale as the Baker’s father, Joanna Riding as Cinderella’s mother and Annette Crosbie as Little Red Riding Hood’s granny.
