A major photo exhibition by award-winning international photographer Nancy Honey is being staged at Somerset House in London this autumn.

Called “100 Leading Ladies: A Portrait of Influential Senior Women in Britain by Nancy Honey”, Honey photographed and interviewed 100 British senior women, all of whom transformed the perception of what is possible for women to achieve in their lives.

And four of the women are major figures in British Theatre and the arts, with actress Dame Harriet Walter, ballerina Dame Beryl Grey, philanthropist Dame Vivien Duffield and theatre critic Blanche Marvin MBE featured in the show.

Blanche Marvin MBE is a much-loved London-based theatre critic and is founder of the Empty Space and Peter Brook Awards in London.

Dame Vivien Duffield is a major philanthropist who has raised and donated millions of pounds for organisations, especially the Arts, including the Royal Opera House, the National Theatre, the RSC, the Donmar Warehouse, Tate, the Royal Ballet, the British Museum, the Natural History Museum, Dulwich Picture Gallery, the Southbank Centre and Eureka! The National Children’s Museum.

Dame Harriet Walter is one of Britain’s most loved and respected actresses on stage and screen, with theatre credits including Mary Stuart (Evening Standard Award for Best Actress) and A Question of Geography, Twelfth Night and Three Sisters at the RSC (Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Revival). She recently appeared in Phyllida Lloyd’s all-female production of Julius Caesar, and will play Henry IV in Lloyd’s production at the Donmar Warehouse from 3 October 2014.

Dame Beryl Grey is an eminent ballerina and was the first Western ballerina to perform at the Bolshoi Ballet in Russia.

Other women featured in the exhibition include Germaine Greer, Averil Mansfield, Kirsty Wark, Amanda Nevill, Prue Leith, Tessa Jowell, Sally Clarke, Lynne Franks and Diana Athill.

A book of the project, designed by Steven Taylor Associates and published by Dewi Lewis Media, is also set to be launched alongside the exhibition priced £30.
