Ian Rickson directs Kristin Scott Thomas in Sophocles’ tragedy Electra at the Old Vic Theatre in the round.

Following their acclaimed partnership last year on the revival of Harold Pinter’s Old Times, director Ian Rickson reunites with actress Kristin Scott Thomas in this new production of Sophocles’ epic Greek tragedy Electra.

Adapted by Frank McGuinness, this classic drama about Electra and Orestes’ revenge on their father’s murderers, will be staged in the round at the Old Vic.


An all-star cast includes Hollywood actress Kristin Scott Thomas as Electra, Olivier and Ian Charleson Award winner Jack Lowden as Orestes, EastEnders and Broadchurch actress Amanda Drew as Chrysothemis and acclaimed TV and stage actress Diana Quick (Brideshead Revisited) as Clytemnestra.

Other cast include Golda Rosheuvel, Thalissa Teixeira and Peter Wight.

    Disappointing , Lacks imagination from Director and Design time. Set is very school play mark.
    Actors especially Ms, Thomas try hard. Lacks vision and passion.
